FreeSpeech 1

Do you think we really have Free Speech in the United States ?  What is your definition of free speech ?  Do you think laws should be passed that limits free speech ?  Should "hate" speech be outlawed ?  Do you think "misinformation" should be outlawed ?  If you think some forms of speech needs to be regulated... WHO do you think should be the regulator ?  Some may be quick to say the government should be the regulator of free speech, but, what happens when the government changes hands, i.e. a new administration take power as the result of an election ?

What do you think of what’s called “cancel culture” ?  What do you think of social media platforms deciding what opinions are allowed and which opinion are not allowed ?  Do you think someone with an opinion should be removed from social media platforms ?   Do you think what China does with Social Credit Scores is a good thing, or a bad thing ?

Lets start a discussion on the topic of free speech in America.  America may be the only country with a Constitution that guarantees free speech.  In most other countries the right of its citizen’s to speak freely and openly is not a guaranteed right.  Such governments may “permit” such, but that is not guaranteed in their constitution.  In other words, the government needs to grant you permission to speak what’s on your mind.
