If you are on the "Keto" diet... tell the world all about it.

I guess I'm what's called a "ketovore". I eat mostly meat (about 90%), and a small amount of vegetables. I am not a strict Carnivore, or as some call it "Lion" diet. When I removed myself from the "standard American diet" I did it mostly for the health aspect of eating better. Yes, I lost weight, which was a desire also, but improving my health was about 60% of my goal. Of course once I got to my goal weight I then focused on a 100% health aspect of the diet.
I lost 40lbs to get to my goal weight. I lost it in about 6-months. To get me jump started my main tactic was reduction in caloric intake. I ate a lot of salads. I did that until I did some research on the carnivore diet. I switched over to carnivore about a month into my weight loss journey. Now, after reaching my goal weight, I eat about 90% meats. Some days its 100% meat, and other days its maybe 70% meat, 20% vegetables, and 10% fruit. Basically at this point about 1-year into the change, I am starting to add back in more of a mix of items, but in very moderate amounts, all while keeping an eye on the scale for any trends upward.
Some folks ask me how I lost the weight. I tell them it’s very simple… but not to be confused with “easy”. I eat only one-ingredient foods, no sugar (or sugar substitutes), and very little carbs. One-ingredient foods are just what it sounds like… one ingredient, like meat, eggs, fruit, vegetables, etc. Foods that do NOT have an “ingredient” label or a nutritional label. If the food has an ingredient list… then its not one-ingredient. If you eat only what comes from the soil, or only eat what eats what comes from the soil (animals), you will be well on your way to a healthier body, and you will likely lose weight in the process. I eat fish on occasion, but I don’t particularly care for fish in general.
Now, “carbs” are not single ingredient foods, I know this. But, I eat so little of carbs, say under 25-grams a day (and most days zero carbs), that doing so will not make a significant difference in either my health or weight. Although I enjoy eating meats of all kinds (except organ meats), I also realize that one must give ones self a little enjoyment in life.
Maybe I will add more to this subject in the future but that’s all for now. I could write a book on my journey but not many want to read a book using this blog format.
