You will own nothing... and be happy !

Has this New World Order concept affected you yet?  If not... it will... in the very near future.  Perhaps it already has affected you and you don't even know it.

Many folks think that things ("smart" things) connected to the internet are a good thing... so convenient and helpful.  Well... it, (whatever "it" is), like your TV or refrigerator, if it has to connect to the internet in order to work... then the manufacture can shut off that item whenever they like.  Have you noticed lately that the TV you thought you "bought" occasionally has a screen show up that says they are updating their "TOS" (Terms of Service) ?  Then have you noticed that there is no "opt-out" or "decline" button ?  This means accept their new TOS or your TV does not work !  You can't move off the screen until you accept the TOS.  In effect, your TV will not work until you accept these terms regardless of you liking or agreeing to them.  Suppose you are one of the VERY few that actually read the TOS, and you don't like, nor agree to, those terms.  There is no DECLINE button... only an ACCEPT button.  Don't press ACCEPT and you can not navigate away from that screen, in effect leaving your TV useless.

If you purchase most things nowadays, it comes with some sort of TOS (Terms of Service agreement).  Most folks don't read this because frankly its too long, to complicated, and the print is too small.  I suggest that is no accident.  The seller or manufacture doesn't want you reading this TOS, likely because if you read it, and understood it... you likely would not buy the product.

The term "purchase", or "buy" is not what those terms used to mean.   Just like many words used today, the meaning has changed.  Today, purchase or buy actually means "RENT".  Think about it... if the manufacture or seller can keep you from operating the item... do you really "own" it ?  If the manufacture can lock your TV until you accept their new TOS... do you really "own" it ?  You agreed to one set of terms when you purchased the item, now the manufacture has changed those terms AFTER the sale, and mandates you accept these changed terms or they will render what you thought was a purchase into a worthless\useless piece of machinery.

How about your car ?  If you own a late model automobile it very likely has a "kill" function that the manufacture (or in many cases the police) can actually turn your car off and prevent it from restarting.  This would be a good thing if someone stole your car, but how many times does that happen.  How about they shut down your car if you don't make payments, or have an unpaid parking ticket... you ok with that.  There appears to be far more examples of this working against you, and very few where it works for you.

Back in the day, as they say... when you bought something, it was yours to do with it as you please.  Today, with these burdensome TOS's, you don't really own the item if the manufacturer can keep you from using it, repairing it, changing it or even destroying it.  AND... we didn't even get into privacy issues from items connected to the internet.  Many folks love Siri, Hey-Google and Amazon functions.  The companies will tell you that they can't or don't listen to your random conversations.  Well, have you even seen ads pop up on your phone or computer related to a product or service you may have been talking about in your home or car?  How do you think it knows what you talked about in the privacy of your own home ?  In fact there have been instances (here is just one article) that describes the concern.

Folks, just know that things are changing RAPIDLY.  Be very careful of the items you purchase and the after-the-sale involvement with the manufacturer or the seller.  Investigate if the item you think you ar purchasing... is really a purchase in the convential sense of the word.

Do YOU have any similar experiences with items you bought ?  If so, leave qa comment so that other readers can be made aware of this change in purchasing comcept.
