Here is an excellent video describing issues with a constitutional guarantee, namely the Second Amendment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFODY-sHIpM
If you are not familiar with this back-door” tactic to side-step the ban against a National Gun Registry, the ATF (at the Biden’s direction) is proposing a “rule” change that would make individual gun owners get a Federal Firearm License (FFL) to sell even as little as ONE gun to anyone, including family members, close friends or relatives. And of course there will be a fee to obtain such a license. Remember… NO ONE elected any AFT official. The ATF cannot create new laws, ONLY the Congress can do that. Yet the President (any President) can in effect change/create laws with the stroke of their pen. Is this a Representative Republic, or a Dictatorship ???
This means that EVERY firearm that changes hands will be recorded on a form 4473, and be available to the government upon demand. Also, there is a law that states when a Licensed Gun Dealer goes out of business (or is forced out of business, which a lot were), those 4473 records become the property of the Federal Government. As the video states, the Federal Government already has over 920-MILLION of such records on file. This law also forbids the US to create or maintain a gun registry. Although this is the law, there are sneaky tatics to get around this law as seen in this paragraph.
Do background checks work… in short NO. One only has to look at the evening news to see how many criminals have guns. See, that’s what all gun control advocates overlook (or refuse to look at)… criminals DON’T follow the law. No matter how many laws are enacted, criminals simply don’t care and disregard them. It is already a law that you can not murder anyone, but did that law stop the mass murders that gun control advocates like to cite… of course not. Laws only affect the Law Abiding folks… NOT the criminals. If everyone in our society followed the law, there would be no need for cops, courts, prisons, etc. If everyone started abiding by all the laws in this country… it would drive the country into recession/depression due to the numerous folks in the criminal justice system being out of work. These folks together cost over 1-TRILLION yearly to employ, and construct the establishments to manage the criminal element in our society. AND… that’s just in the United States, can you imagine what that figure is worldwide ???
The Second Amendment reads… “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Please take note to the “shall not be infringed” part. Also remember, it’s not the government that gives us that “right”… the Constitution is to keep the government in check. The constitution is the PEOPLE’s document TO the government. The constitution recognizes that as an American citizen these are your rights, not your privileges. You should NEVER have to ask the government for permission for something you already have, and that it is prohibited to be taken away from you. Can you image if you had to fill out a government form every time you wanted to exercise your First Amendment right ? Or ANY of the rights you possess under the US Constitution ? Many gun control advocates would like to see the Second Amendment abolished, but I suspect the overwhelming majority of them like the First Amendment.
I think I have a solution to the gun problems in this country. Its simple… pass just one law that states – if you are a “prohibited person” (not allowed to own or possess a firearm) (OR, you are caught with anyone of same) and you are caught with a firearm, your penalty is life in prison, no parole. If the person(s) are in the commission of a crime, that penalty is added to the life sentence if found guilty of the crime (in addition to the mandatory gun penalty of life in prison). Harsh… yes, but necessary if we want to stop criminals from possessing (and using) guns. WHO would be against such a law? If they are, I suggest their true motive of any other new gun laws is simply a step to total confiscation of all guns.
That’s my 2-cents… what is yours. Let me know your comments below. And specifically would you be in favor of my new law on Prohibited Persons found with a gun suggestion?
